The Arrow story starts in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho in 1983 when Denise met Dave. Both driven and likeminded people, Dave and Denise formed a connection. At the time, Denise worked for GTE and Dave worked for Charles R. Watts Company. In order to earn extra income, they started to sealcoat and stripe parking lots on the weekend. With hard work over time, their side business grew and in 1985, they started Arrow Concrete & Asphalt Specialties, Inc. A few years later, Dave and Denise got married and started a family. Still working their full-time jobs, Dave and Denise spent their nights and weekends growing Arrow Concrete & Asphalt. When Denise was laid off from her job In 1991, she took it as an opportunity to manage the office for Arrow. With more time and resources devoted to it, Arrow became extremely busy and Dave and Denise hired their first employees. In 1998, Dave left Charles R. Watts Company due to a company buyout. It was at that time that the doors opened for Arrow Construction Supply, Inc. With Dave and Denise giving all of their time to the business, Arrow was able to put down some physical roots. Arrow’s first location was an old A&W building on East Trent in the Spokane Valley. They started with three people in the office, and the business has grown steadily ever since.
In 2001, Arrow started expanding into the northern Idaho market, adding a location in Coeur d’Alene. Arrow has continued to better serve the area with locations in Hayden and Sandpoint. In 2009, Arrow outgrew their original location, so a custom facility was constructed two blocks away at 9915 E. Trent. An equipment rental division was added in 2010 with a new structure built next door to house the new division and provide a rental store that features most equipment needed for concrete and asphalt maintenance. Today, Arrow employs over 80 people and has five additional business entities. A large part of the company’s success is its employees. Arrow employees are known for their friendliness and excellent customer service. Thanks to our employees, we have enjoyed many great opportunities and successes. Our philosophy is very simple. Treat people the way you would want to be treated. Our relationship with our employees and our customers is how we have been successful. We appreciate them both and the Lawless family is very thankful for them. |
